The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 13th and runs through Sunday, August 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 5.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 5.0 team.
This is my first time taking part in the Bout of Books read-a-thon and I am super excited. I love that this is a week long event. I am hoping that this will help me get out of my reading funk that I have sort of been in this summer.
This is where I will be posting all of my updates throughout the week. I decided that I will be including the challenges that I take part in this too. This template provided by Bout of Books. Thanks.

~What happens to your books when you are done reading them?
Day 1 (Monday)
Challenge: What happens to the books when you are done reading them?
Host(s): The Space Between and Reading in Texas
My answer: Personally for me when I am done reading and reviewing the book, two things can possibly happen (1) if its something that I really liked or is part of a series of books I will keep the book and shelf it in my read book case and (2) if its something that I don't see me keeping I pass it on to other blogger friends. I am very good at passing books along.
Time Devoted to Reading:
I am hoping to get as much reading as I can in but not sure how much will get read during the day since I have my son with me and in the evenings I am hoping to get in as much as possible.
My Goals:
I am really hoping to get at least 5 to 6 books read. Hoping to discover some new blogs and perhaps comment more.
Books to Read:
I am hoping to read the following:
~Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot
~The Demon Catchers of Milan by Kat Beyer
~The Unnaturalists by Tiffany Trent
~Enchanted by Alethea Kontis
~One perfect Summer by Paige Toon
~Hell on Wheels by Julie Ann Walker
~Throughly Kissed by Kristine Grayson
~Charming Blue by Kristine Grayson
It will be nice to make a dent in my TBR pile.
I thought I would add this to my post, its all the new blogs I have discovered in the read-a-thon. The ones being added are the ones I have commented on.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you decided to join us! Good luck and have fun ;)
ReplyDeleteHope this challenge will get you back into the swing of things!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on day one! Finished one book and started another. I am still trying to finish my first book. It is time for me to step it up today!
ReplyDeleteGreat 1st day progress ;) Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWay to keep trucking along. Those books will start piling up as we get into the weekend.
ReplyDeleteYay for readathons! I'm very interested to see what you have to say about The Wishing Spell. My review will be up next week and I feel we probably feel very different about it. I'm also curious about Beautiful Disaster. I've seen so many mixed reviews on that one. Good luck with the rest of the readathon!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job on your progress so far!
ReplyDeleteHey thanks for stopping by :). Yes I can't wait to read Unspoken it sounds awesome !
ReplyDeleteOh you've made some good progress yesterday :p. I'm so behind :/. I hope I'll be back on track soon !
Good luck !
Hi Cindy! Hope you're enjoying your first readathon!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great books on your tbr. The Meg Cabot books are all so funny :)
Happy Reading! ~.~
I really feel that everyone reading The Land of Spells at the same time without me was some kind of massive conspiracy, but I'll let it go as you are doing so well. I, myself, am failing at this readathon. Reading a lot, just not finishing much of anything!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a great time! :) Size 12 and Ready to Rock is on my wishlist - I can't wait to read it.
