Favorite holiday recipe? Definitely "Flying Jacob" - it's a Swedish dish (I'm Swedish) with chicken, bacon, bananas, chilisauce, cream, and peanuts. I know - cardiac arrest on a plate, but SOOO good! :)
My favorite holiday recipe is one that I've tinkered with myself for homemade pumpkin pie. The secret ingredient is home-grown pie pumpkins. You roast the quartered and cleaned pumpkin in the oven (coated with oil, peel and then liquefy it in the blender with the condensed milk. Otherwise everything else is the same as a regular pumpkin pie recipe you would find on the can of pureed pumpkin.

My Grandma on my Dad's side use to make the best, the best and I mean the best melt in your mouth fudge with nuts....the old fashion kind that you put an automatic 20 pounds on you. My Mom received the recipe and just about every year tries to make it like my Grandma did, yet Grandma had this uncanny knack of just happening to leave something out of her recipes when sharing them....so alas, it has never been the same.
